Costs/billing
Working within the framework of orthomolecular, functional, preventive and integrative medicine requires highly individualized diagnostics, therapy and advice, which is tailored to each individual patient.
It is therefore a very time- demanding approach that goes beyond conventional medical care. This time includes not only the consultation time, but also the preparation and follow-up time (e.g. for the review of findings), as well as the preparation of laboratory diagnostics tailored to the individual, their evaluation and the preparation of individual therapy plans.
For billing purposes, rates from the GOÄ (Gebührenordnung für Ärzte) are used, which are listed for similar services in the GOÄ. These are marked with the suffix “A” for “analog” for similar services.
The GOÄ, which was developed for statutory health insurance medicine, which does not provide for such a large amount of time for patients, so the factor is increased in accordance to the treatment contract.
This is a common procedure for private medical billing. However, private health insurance companies can reject the analog numbers as well as any increases by a factor higher than x2.3. I therefore recommend that you check in advance whether your private insurance company will cover the costs.
People with public health insurance are of course also welcome, but should be aware that they will have to cover all costs themselves as self-paying patients.
The costs for the laboratory tests are usually invoiced directly by the respective laboratory.
Cancellation of appointments:
