Gut therapy

The gut - our center, our base.
Our gut is not only responsible for the absorption of nutrients, but also for the excretion of our “waste products” and, above all, for the separation from our environment, because what comes in through the mouth is foreign to the body.

Digestive enzymes and gastric acid break down food into small nutritional components that the body can absorb and recognize as such.
However, if larger food components enter the body through our intestinal wall because of a permeability disorder (“leaky gut”), there is no longer a clear separation from the environment. Our immune system then recognizes these larger components in the intestinal wall, where around 70% of our body's immunologically active cells are located, as foreign and attacks them. This can then lead to the development of food intolerances.

Even microorganisms that constantly invade from outside are repelled by the immune system in the intestinal wall, while bacteria belonging to the body's own microbiome are tolerated.
This balance of defense and tolerance is therefore extremely important for a healthy gut.

Many diseases correlate with the quality of our microbiome and are often associated with a lower biodiversity and a misdistribution of our intestinal bacteria towards unfavorable bacterial strains (dysbiosis). Antibiotic therapies also destroy our natural microbiome and lead to dysbiosis. A vicious circle is created. If we lack good bacteria, inflammation occurs, which ultimately results in a "leaky gut".
An increase in unfavorable bacterial strains can in turn cause or worsen histamine intolerance and lead to inflammatory processes not only in the intestines but also in the entire body. These inflammatory processes can then in turn worsen histamine problems.

What many people don't realize is that the intestines also play a central role for our hormones and neurotransmitters. Therefore, the intestines should always be treated in conjunction with hormonal problems.

In general, one should not lose sight of the intestine as a central health issue, because if things are not running smoothly in the intestine, it drains energy and has an impact on the entire body.
